Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) and Dentistry: A lethal connect

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a significant global health challenge, particularly in dentistry where antibiotics are a primary tool. However, overuse and misuse of antibiotics contribute to the spread of AMR. The lack of timely antibiotic culture and susceptibility tools accelerates the spread of resistance. To combat AMR, it is crucial to increase surveillance, understand the need for antibiotics in dental treatment, advocate for responsible usage, and advance research into innovative treatments.
